This is the old Packard Yard, which once served the namesake trim plant at 23 Mile Road and Mound Road. It is still used for storage and as a run-around track when the WDWS local switches the Ford Utica Trim Plant (formerly Packard Motor Car). Once in a while, one can see 20 or so Hi-Cube box cars standing here. It is clearly in deferred-maintenance mode, but the rail to the plant looks well groomed. This view is looking northwest.
We are now at the north end of Packard Yard looking southeast. This is the switch that the power for WDWS uses to run around his train. The End of The Line is just behind us.
