West Detroit Tower on one fine May 1973 afternoon. The tower had a 96-lever pistol-grip interlocking machine to control the local interlocking, and a CTC panel to control CP-BAY CITY JCT., CP-20th ST., CP-15th ST., CP-VINEWOOD, CP-WATERMAN, and movements through the Detroit River Tunnel. Control of the Detroit River Tunnel was shared between the operator at West Detroit and the operator at Windsor. Both had to be lined in the same direction for the signals to clear.
