Grand Trunk Western Photographs

A northbound GTW train on the GTW Shoreline Sub at Erie, Michigan, in 1980. He has just departed Lang Yard. The track in the foreground is the Conrail Detroit Line northbound main. The track in the background is the GTW Lang-Vienna Industrial Track leading to the Consumer's Power Whiting Plant, which is seen here in the background.

    This portion of the contemporary CNIC Shore Line Sub sees a lot of coal traffic to the Detroit Edison Monroe Plant (as does the parallel NS Detroit Line). CSX interchanges its coal trains for delivery to Erie, Monroe, and Trenton with CNIC at Toledo Lang.
