The Detroit and Toledo Shore Line RR, the "Expressway for Industry", was a bridge line for GTW and NKP traffic between Detroit and...drum roll please...Toledo. Most online industries were located in Downriver communities of the Detroit area, and most of D&TSL's rolling stock were covered hoppers for foundry sand traffic or high cube box cars for auto parts. Shore Line's locomotive fleet totaled 10 GP7s and 6 switchers.
N&W sold its 50% holding in D&TSL to GTW in 1981, and overnight became the GTW Shoreline Subdivision.
