Conrail GP38-2 8170

This must have been one of Conrail's first paint jobs, because he seems to be just as crusty as the ex-Penn Central unit behind him. One wonders if the LV GP38-2's were delivered directly to Conrail. These two are pulling a westbound coal train at MIKE tower in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The old PRR roundhouse is in the background. October 1979. Photographer unknown.
